Ciaran uses grids, stencils, masking tape and a limited colour palette that show the process of the making - where elements don’t quite align - to create distortion, depth and negative spaces. Around those marks new patterns emerge and the work takes on a metaphysical aspect; one where the viewer creates a sense of something else being there, something more than what is merely visible.

He is interested not just in what we see, but how we see it; where perception becomes the medium.
